Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to use Product Listing Studio? +
A Mac running macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or later and an iPhone that supports Continuity Camera. Your iPhone and Mac must be signed into the same Apple Account with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on. No cables or extra apps needed.
Which iPhones support Continuity Camera? +
iPhone XR or later running iOS 16+. For best results, iPhone 11 or newer is recommended. The Ultra Wide camera (used for Center Stage and Desk View) requires iPhone 11 or later.
How does the camera connect to my Mac? +
Product Listing Studio uses Apple's built-in Continuity Camera feature. When your iPhone is near your Mac, it automatically appears as a camera source. No pairing, no configuration — just open the app and your iPhone camera feed appears.
What size are the output photos? +
Photos are automatically cropped to a perfect 1:1 square. You can choose from four size presets in Settings → Output: 1080px, 1440px, 2160px (default), or 3024px. All major marketplaces accept square images and they display best in search results and listings.
Where are my photos saved? +
You choose the destination folder in Settings → General, or change it anytime with ⌘⇧O. Photos are saved as JPEG files directly to that folder the instant you capture them. Use ⌘R to reveal your photos in Finder. Organize by listing, batch, date — whatever fits your workflow.
Can I adjust the image quality? +
Yes. JPEG quality is adjustable from 50% to 100% in Settings → Output (default is 92%). Higher quality means larger file sizes. For most marketplace listings, 85–92% is the sweet spot — sharp enough for zoomed-in detail without bloating your uploads.
What does Auto-Enhance do? +
Auto-Enhance runs a CIFilter pipeline that automatically adjusts exposure, color balance, and sharpness on each photo as it's captured. It evens out inconsistent lighting so your product shots look uniform across an entire session. Toggle it on or off in Settings → Output. With enhance on, capture-to-save takes 120–210ms instead of the usual 60–120ms.
Does the app collect any data? +
No. Product Listing Studio does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All photos stay on your Mac in the folder you choose. The app has no accounts, no analytics, and no network calls. See our Privacy Policy for details.
The camera feed isn't showing up. What should I do? +
Make sure your iPhone and Mac are signed into the same Apple Account, both have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on, and your iPhone is running iOS 16+ with your Mac on macOS 13+. Try locking and unlocking your iPhone, or restarting both devices. The app has built-in reconnection with automatic retry — it will attempt to reconnect up to 3 times. If issues persist, check Apple's Continuity Camera support page.
Is Product Listing Studio free? +
Product Listing Studio is a free download. The free version includes the full camera, live preview, auto square crop, and all size presets — you can save up to 3 photos to try the complete workflow. To unlock unlimited saves, auto-enhance, and JPEG quality control, it's a one-time $8 purchase. No subscription, no account required.
What happens after I save 3 photos on the free version? +
You can still use the camera, preview, and compose shots — you just can't save any more photos until you unlock the full version. Your 3 saved photos are yours to keep. Upgrading is a one-time $8 purchase through the Mac App Store — no subscription.
